With this project we were tasked with designing and prototyping a mobile game for users to improve sustainability in a chosen aspect of their everyday life. I chose to make a mobile game destined for younger audiences to learn about recycling in a fun way while also raising awareness on ocean contamination.
The game consisted in the user choosing a sea creature to collect trash around the ocean in a running type game, to later classify it in the different recycling bins in a minigame. The background image would change as the game progresses from dirty to clean to signify the users cleanup work. To encourage usage there will be an option to purchase new characters from the store with the points earned in-game and also for the users to be able to add their friends and see each others' progress and punctuation.
