As part of a personal project I found out that even though most of my friends are subscribed to a movie streaming app, they all seem to struggle to find new things to watch. The shows that people end up watching are recommended by those who they know, and not the app in itself. So, I decided to dive a bit more into this and design a potential social app around movie watching.
Provide people with a social app to stream movies/shows/documentaries in a shared social online space where they can extend the movie watching experience and recommend things to watch.
Research and Insights
I made a survey and these were the main features people would want to see: 1. People want to be able to recommend shows to others 2. See what others are watching 3. Have that "movie night" experience even if they are not together physically

Log In/ Sign up page and Home Screen
In the home page I prioritised the main function of the app over the recommendations or "featured" functionalities of movie apps. At the top the user will be able to access the different movie night experiences that they have set up with the different groups.
"Currently watching" tab
The"watching section" is based on the main functionality of the app as well as the personal watch history of the users and the downloads tab.
Search and Profile tabs
For the profile as the app is based on social media models the "saved" shows the users will like to watch later appear in a board form so that when other users look for their profile they will be able to also see these. From the profile the users will also be able to manage their groups and friends list.
